School Activities

Washington Elementary celebrated its Back to School Night with a Calenda parade celebration in the neighborhoods near the school. The parade showcased music, dancing, and large figures called monos de calenda and marmotas, which are part of a traditional celebration in Oaxaca, Mexico. Families also get to enjoy many live performances by the Diablos Mixtecos Unidos and food from various vendors.
